Lady Storm Grab First Win

CHAPPELL-- The young Creek Valley Storm Girl's Basketball team is light on numbers and experience, and they have struggled this season as they learn to play together and get down some basic fundamentals to make them competitive.

However, they opened the new year with a positive note as they took down Minatare at home on January 7, 2025, for their first win of the season. It was a battle of winless teams, but in this contest, Creek Valley was easily the superior team.

Creek Valley had two players finish in double-digits, with senior Ava Fraass and sophomore Catherine Tilghman each scoring 14 points in the victory. However, on Friday, January 10, the Lady Storm could not keep up the momentum against the Kilgore Cowgirls, and again struggled to score, dropping the contest 60-to-30. Freshman Airvee Bauer led the scoring for Creek Valley with 9 points in the loss.

The Lady Storm have a tough matchup scheduled at home on January 16 when they face the Paxton lady Tigers, and then a winnable game against Banner County at home on January 18, 2025.
