William "Bill" L. Suit, age 79, of Sidney Ne, passed away in his home on the morning of December 18, 2024. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on January 10, 2024 at the Nebraska Veterans Cemetery at Alliance, NE. Bill was born on February 19, 1945 in Oshkosh, NE, where he was raised by parents Terry and Christine Suit. After graduating from Oshkosh High School in 1963 he attended McCook Junior College where he played football and earned his associate business degree. He then spent two years of service in the US Army before resuming his education, earning his bachelor's degree in criminal justice from the University of Nebraska, Omaha.
His law enforcement career included work with the Protective Ranger Service in Yellowstone and Death Valley National Parks, the Scottsbluff County Sheriff's Office, and the Burlington Northern Railroad. In retirement he served on the Cheyenne Veterans Service Board.
Bill is survived by his wife, Mary Suit of Sidney, NE, his daughter, Holly (husband Bret) Hoover of Boise, ID, his son William (wife Tammy) Suit Jr, and his grandsons, Nathaniel, Alex, and Isaac Suit of Alliance, NE.
