SIDNEY--Losing a loved one can change the lives of those left behind. The mourning process can bring about overwhelming feelings of sorrow, regret, and even guilt. Many people struggle through the mourning process and often find dealing with grief to be a burden that cannot be overcome. If you are having problems overcoming grief, take comfort in the fact that you are not alone.

Pastor Brenda Pfeifly will lead a 13-week course on overcoming grief called "Grief Share". The group will meet at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church at 2305 San Marino Road in Sidney, and they will start on January 16, 2025 at 6 p.m. The meetings last 90 minutes and meet every Thursday.

Pastor Pfeifly said, "When you're grieving, it's important to know that you are not alone. Whatever you're experiencing is normal, and there is no "wrong" way to grieve. However, sometimes a person can find themselves becoming overwhelmed with grief, and it starts to affect their lives negatively. It's important to know that there are ways to get help and that many people find themselves in this circumstance."

Pastor Pfeifly focuses the program on getting past grief and moving on to healing. Grief is a normal stage of mourning, but if it is overwhelming to an individual, they will struggle to move past the grieving stage and into the healing stage. Pastor Pfeifly's program is made for those suffering from grief to understand that they are not alone, that feeling overwhelmed at times is normal, and that there's help for those struggling to begin the healing process.

The 13-week session starts January 16, 2025 at 6 p.m. For more information, call Holy Trinity Lutheran Church at 308-254-3124 and ask to speak with Pastor Brenda.
