CHEYENNE--Sidney's Girls and Boys wrestlers took the trip out to Cheyenne on Saturday, December 13, 2024, to compete a the annual Charlie Lake Wrestling Tournament.
For the Girls, Jayden Lee took First Place at 120 lbs., winning the Championship match against Allison Huerta of Scottsbluff by Fall at 32 seconds. Leeann Mulleavey took second place, losing the Championship match to Cheyenne Easts's Joci Davis by Fall at 2:22. Saphira Whitley earned 4th Place, losing her semi-final match to Wheatland's Sophie Meyer by Fall at 2:47.
The boys had duals to wrestle as well as the individual competitions, and the team took seventh place, beating Pine Bluffs in the seventh place match 45-to-32. Sidney had three wrestlers go undefeated in the duals, Patrick McCartney, Zech Roggasch, and Kaine Hill. All three boys went 5-and-0 in the duals.
The Varsity Boys results for the individual competitions had Patrick McCartney taking Third Place at 190 lbs and Cayson Boltjes taking Third Place at 215 lbs.
