Patricia "Pat" Jane (Dindinger)
Wiekhorst, 90 years old,
beloved wife, devoted
mother, daughter, daughterin-
law, grandmother, greatgrandmother,
great-greatgrandmother,
and friend
passed away on November
20, 2024, at Kimball County
Manor in Kimball, NE, after a
long full life.
Services were held at the Prairie West
Church in Potter, NE on Monday, December
2, 2024 with Pastor Warren Cico officiating.
Inurnment took place in the Potter Cemetery
in Potter, NE. In lieu of flowers monetary
donations may be made to the Potter
Volunteer Fire Department.

Pat was born in Bienfait, Saskatchewan,
Canada to Raymond Henry and Lois
Rose (Kingston) Dindinger and became a
naturalized citizen when she was 18 years
old. After several moves with her family she
arrived in Potter, NE in 1947. She graduated
in 1952 from Potter High School as the
Valedictorian.
Pat married Terrell Ray Wiekhorst, August
30, 1953 at Potter United Methodist Church.
To this union three children were born, Terry
R., Gina Lyn and David J.
For 40 years Pat was the Village Clerk-
Treasurer of Potter, NE. She loved doing
the business of the village and especially
liked meeting and interacting with people.
She gardened, canned, did crochet and
was a talented seamstress, designing and
making Gina's wedding dress among many
other garments. Her baking was unmatched
with her family favorite being
Grandma's Wacky Cake.
Caregiving was a special talent
of Pat's. She was a dedicated
caregiver for many in her family
as well as friends.
Pat was a faithful 75+ year
member of the Potter United
Methodist Church and had a
beautiful singing voice, she spent
years singing in the choir sitting
by her good friend Ruth Slama and the two
often sang duets. Pat was a member of Beta
Sigma Phi Sorority, Eastern Star, Hospital
Auxiliary, Evening Circle and a Meals on
Wheels Volunteer. After she retired, she
loved exercising with her friends at the
Potter Fire Hall and after exercise gathering
for breakfast at the Potter Sundry.
She is survived by her siblings Tom
(Nancy) Dindinger of Winter Park, CO and
Vicky Matthies of Littleton, CO; children
Terry (Kathleen) Wiekhorst of Green River,
WY, Gina (Randy) Mathewson and David
(Karen) Wiekhorst all of Potter, NE; ten
grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, five
great-great-grandchildren and numerous
special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband
Terrell in 2015, her parents Raymond and
Lois Dindinger, her father and mother inlaw
Raymond and Violet Wiekhorst, her
siblings, sister, Ellen (Dwain) Madden,
brother Terry Dindinger, sister-in-law and
brother-in-law, Inez and Harvey Williams
and grandson Beau Mathewson.
We would like to thank everyone at the
Kimball County Manor who for the past 4+
years treated Miss Pat, aka Grandma, like
family and made her content in every way.
We are forever in awe of each and every
one of you who always went above and
beyond in caring for her.
