SIDNEY – At 7 p.m. on Thursday, December 19th, award-winning singer-songwriter Daniel Christian and his band will take the Sidney High School Performing Arts Center stage to perform a concert of songs for the holiday season, including many popular Christmas favorites and a few unique chestnuts.
Nashville recording artist Daniel Christian is a native of Tecumseh, Nebraska and taught high school English for five years before making music his full-time occupation in 2008. Since then, he has entertained audiences from coast to coast, including appearances at Nashville's Bluebird Cafe, the Country Stampede in Topeka, and Austin's SXSW Festival. During his travels, Daniel appeared here in Sidney with his band on February 16th, 2018 and December 19th, 2021. He has opened shows for The Fixx, Selah, Montgomery Gentry, The Afters, and many more, and has released four full-length albums (two recorded in Nashville), a live concert recording, and six EPs, including projects with South Carolina label, Tremulant Records.
Daniel Christian has won two National Country Music Festival awards, and has earned nine Omaha Entertainment Award nominations, including Best Singer-Songwriter, Best Alternative/Indie Artist, Best Christian/Gospel Artist, Album of the Year, and Artist of the Year. According to his appreciative fans, Daniel's smooth, melodic style "sounds like cinnamon rolls taste!"
The High Plains Arts Council is bringing the Daniel Christian holiday concert to Sidney as part of their 2024-2025 season. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors, $5 for students (including WNCC), and children under 5 are free. They will be available at the door.
