The Holidays are a magical time for most; a space of dreams, wishes and activities designed to fill the time before jolly old Santa makes an appearance.
However, for children and adults with sensory sensitivities or autism, the hustle and bustle of the season can seem overwhelming. From crowded holiday events to unfamiliar routines, the Christmas season can contribute to sensory overload and feel too much to handle. Recognizing this, the All is Bright Christmas Tour is offering its very first Sensory Night. Knowing that inclusive and useful activities intentionally designed to satisfy the personal needs of these special children and adults alike may help them to unleash their hidden abilities and encourage them to more fully enjoy the holidays, this special evening will be set aside and
designed specifically for individuals or families who need a more sensory-friendly environment with gentle lights and sound. Soft music will play throughout the evening, with dim lighting to create a calming holiday experience.
Holiday crafts and activities with a relaxed and gentle pace and soothing ambiance will be available.
Of course, Santa will be available for photos and chats, but on this night it will be in a quieter, more peaceful setting.
Noise-cancelling headphones are encouraged and welcomed for anyone who needs them. Although the entire space is enclosed, it does not have heating so hats, gloves, and warm coats are definitely recommended to make sure your family's experience is as enjoyable as possible.
Sensory Night Schedule:
• 3pm: Soft holiday music begins with full overhead lights;
• 4pm: Overhead lights will be turned off to allow the natural lighting to filter through the skylights;
• 5pm: Natural light fades to create a softly lit, calming atmosphere
