Curating Community Through Connection: Meira Moon Is Not Just a Phase

A collection of unique offerings and curated goods were available at the Meira Moon Market on Saturday, November 9, 2024 in downtown Sidney. Tailoring to a new space, this year's fall market was held inside of Boss City Brewing.

Working to inspire creativity as well as connection through the bonds of motherhood, Meira Moon has partnered with other small business owners to share in that success together. "When the community reacted so positively to our first pop-up, we decided to keep this going," co-owner McKailie Conger mentions, "Jenn and I tend to be 'serial entrepreneurs' so this serves as a great way to explore and launch our new business ventures as well."

Born and raised in Sidney, locals Jenn Relerford and Conger have both rooted their young families in Cheyenne County. Cementing their footprints here, each has achieved milestones as photographers and now small business owners in the community.

"Motherhood is a major part of Meira Moon," they comment, "Our monthly memberships continue to grow and we have big plans for the new year." Meeting on the first Thursday of each month, the duo turned Meira Moon hosts monthly motherhood meetings as well as impromptu "nights out." The informal gatherings serve as a much needed addition to Sidney, working as a way to stay connected but also have fun through the bonds of parenthood.

Moving away from their original location, Meira Moon has plans to expand their markets as well as business. "We curate our pop-ups to offer vendors you might not experience at other local markets, and we do our best to not overlap industries," Conger and Relerford comment, "There's definitely 'a vibe' at our markets."

Looking forward to the next year, the friends turned mutual business owners have great sights set in store. To contact Meira Moon you can call them at: (308) 249 7144 or by visiting their Facebook page: Meira Moon Collective.
