Serving proudly since 1873 as the beautiful Nebraska Panhandle's first newspaper
Warren (Smoke) Davison, formally of Sterling, CO and Ogallala, NE, died Saturday, November 2nd, at age 80.
Smoke is remembered for a decades long career as a home builder in the Ogallala area and spent years working skilled trades for Frosh Construction, Ness Construction, Ogallala Ready-Mix, and Barr Hauling, until semi-retiring to Sterling where he became property manager of the Inn, part-time handyman at Riverview Golf, and drove for Sterling Auto.
In his spare time, Smoke reveled with friends over Husker football and bellowed about bowling, golf, and games of chance.
Smoke is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lorraine (Harris), originally from Grant, NE, and his children, James (Emily) Vigesaa, Lorilei (Robert Stark), Danelle (Mike Krause), seven grandchildren, his sister Patty (Reitz), and scores of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family welcomes your condolences and will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 Saturday, November 23rd at Faith United Methodist Church, 230 Williams Place, Sterling, CO 80751.
