The Pumpkin of My Eye: Local Decorating Contests Spurs Creativity and Spreads Holiday Cheer

In honor of Halloween, two local pumpkin decorating contests were held in the community; one by Friends of The Sidney Public Library ,and the Cheyenne County Courthouse. A gourd sense of humor keeps us connected as neighbors and friends. 

The Friends of The Sidney Public Library received 20 submissions, all literary themed. The winning pumpkins were:

1st Place - "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" by Drayven Vandenberg 

2nd Place & 3rd Place (a tie) - "Charlotte's  Webb" by the Larson Family; and "Charlotte's Webb" by Malea Sedillo. 

The Cheyenne County Courthouse received 15 submissions; there were no rules for the entries with an Individual and Business category. The winning pumpkins were as follows:

1st Place Individual - Toad by Unnamed 

2nd Place Individual - Oscar the Grouch by Unnamed 

1st Place Business - Wednesday Addams by Adams Industries 

2nd Place Business - "The Revenge of the Quarter Pounder" by C. Elliot Blooms
