Warriors End Regular Season at 6-2

Face Diller-Odell in First Round of Playoffs

DALTON--Leyton took the gratis win by forfeit against Banner County, and now have to gear up for a challenge as they host their first-round game of the D6 Playoffs. Leyton had a great regular season in their return to D6 Football, compiling a 6-and-2 record. They earned the number 8 seed in the playoffs, and host the number 9 seed, Diller-Odell, on Friday at 1 p.m. In Dalton.

The two teams are very similar in many ways, with identical records and both averaging 42.8 points per game. Leyton has the stronger passing attack while the Diller-Odell Griffins rely more on the running game. Being a team directly south of Lincoln along the Kansas border, it is expected that the will be tough and used to playing high-caliber teams. But the Warriors are stacked with athletes, led by standout Alec Watchorn. If Leyton can get their passing game going and keep the pressure up on defense, look for the Warriors to get past the Griffins and on to the second round of the playoffs.

The Warriors have had a very successful return to Six-Man Football. Their hard work has earned them a first-round home game, and a big crowd is expected for the 1 p.m. Kickoff on Friday.
