Larry D. Krauter, age 76 of Sidney, NE passed away in his home on Friday, September 27, 2024. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at Weyerts Cemetery in Lodgepole, NE with Pastor Leon "Bud" Gillespie officiating. Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 from 1-6:00 P.M.to leave condolences for the family.

Larry Duane Krauter was born on January 15, 1948 in Dalton, NE. He was the second son of Orvil and Florence (Thompson) Krauter.
Larry grew up in Sidney, NE and attended Sidney Schools. He graduated from Sidney High School in 1968. Following graduation, he enlisted in the US Navy in July of 1967 where he was stationed in California and Nevada. He served in Vietnam for two years. Following his honorable discharge in April of 1971, he was employed and attended college in Sterling, CO. He also spent time in Gering, NE where he was employed at LB Murphy's. He purchased a home in Casper, WY where he resided for several years before moving to Phoenix, AZ. He later returned to Sidney where he helped and cared for both his elderly parents until their deaths.
Survivors include two brothers, Leroy O. Krauter of Springfield, IL, Lawrence D. Krauter and wife, Kerry, of Phoenix, AZ, three nephews Jeffrey Krauter of Phoenix, AZ, Jeremy Krauter and wife, Karen, of Chandler, AZ, Michael Krauter and wife, Dawn, of Darien, IL., six great-nephews and two great-nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister-in-law and one nephew.
