SIDNEY--Cross Country fans and supporters had a bright and sunny day on October 10, 2024 at Hillside Golf Course in Sidney to cheer on runners ranging from Middle to High school who came from all around Western Nebraska to compete in the prestigious annual Sidney Invite.
The autumn weather was clear if not a bit on the warm side, but that did not stop the runners from giving their all on the challenging course. The sides of the running paths were lined with supporters who cheered on the runners as they traversed the hilly course and gave it their all as they crossed the finish line.
Sidney's Middle School and High School teams were well-represented, as it seemed every pack of runners had at least one "Raiders" jersey within the group. The competition went on all afternoon until the sun started to get low in the sky, and the runners ended their days a bit on the tired side, but happy for the chance to compete at the scenic golf course.
