Let's give 'em Pumpkin to talk about - Local Pumpkin Contests Open Door to Creativity

The Friends of the Sidney Public Library are requesting entries for their annual literary-themed pumpkin decorating contest. Entries may not be carved but they can be painted, accessorized, or even dressed up. You may drop off your submission at the Sidney Public Library between October 21 and October 26, 2024, after which time voting will take place at the Library with prizes awarded to top placing pumpkins.

For questions regarding the contest, you can call the Sidney Library directly at 308-254-3110.

Whether it's gourd-geous or even a little spooky, the Cheyenne County Court House is calling all residents and businesses to carve up their best pumpkin for their third annual competition. There are no rules or requirements for this contest as all ways of decorating are accepted. Entries may be dropped off at the Court House from October 21 through the 29 where they will then be displayed. Pumpkin trophies and cash prizes will be awarded to top-placing pumpkins.

For questions regarding this contest, you can call Tom Payne at 308-249-4257.
