Pastor Appreciation Day is celebrated annually on the second Sunday of October, having been celebrated this year on October 13, 2024. Although local clergy usually receive some appreciation from loyal members of their congregations and satisfaction stemming from a well-delivered sermon, it never hurts to take a moment and say "thank you" to them regardless if your role in the church is congregant or worker.
This year, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Sidney provided their own Pastor Brenda Pfiefly with flowers and chocolates and a card signed by the entire congregation.
They hosted a coffee time after church with her favorite donuts and her time spent with everyone in attendance was enjoyed by everyone. A quote from the day sums it up perfectly. "Today, we take a moment to honor and celebrate our wonderful Pastor. Your unwavering faith, guidance, and dedication inspire us every day. Thank you, Pastor Brenda Pfeifly for your compassion, wisdom, and for always being there for our community."
