Fantastick Patrick Brings His Tricks and Talent to Sidney

The second show heading into the 38th season of High Plains Arts Council was kicked off on Friday, October 11, 2024, to an eager audience. Traveling from Pittsfield, Massachusetts with his unique blend of comedy, circus tricks, and magic, Fantastick Patrick kept ticket holders young and old on the edge of their seats with his high-paced and enthusiastic performance, reminiscent of a "one-man America's Got Talent."

Inspired while attending circus camp at just ten years old, Patrick devoted the rest of his life to the creativity that allowed him to express himself so freely, "I wasn't great in school, and I wasn't good at sports; that experience gave me the confidence and the nudge I needed in life," Patrick commented as he encouraged his audience, "Be you, be the most eccentric and creative version of yourself that you could ever imagine."

With a variety of acts including juggling, balancing an aluminum ladder on his face while spinning plates, and making the audience laugh, the first half of Fantastick Patrick was all about the wow factor. After a brief intermission, some audience members were encouraged to join Patrick on stage for a balancing tutorial using peacock feathers.

Appreciative of the warm and welcoming crowd, Patrick referred to Sidney as, "Midwest nice, the kind of people who would leave one chicken wing at the party, nice."

Recognizing the value of the arts anywhere, especially in a small town, he commented, "It is so good to see you all here, the arts are so important."
