“Let everyone who loves the Lord praise His Name!” Psalm 150 Today is Rosh HaShanah (Hebrew ‘Head of the Year’). My favorite time of year for the colors and the shouts of joy! The autumn season seems to invigorate one with mysterious energy for Homecoming, football and volleyball contests, celebrations of the winners and joy in the harvests at every Oktober Fest.
In Isarel, the new year flows into ten days of awe to remind of being brought out of slavery in Egypt. Now, the people create, and live in, tents. Yom Kippur generates a Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot) lasting for seven full days, October 16th through the 24th 2024. Sukkot is when Herod declared a taxing of the people, which sent Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem where Jesus was born.
A Spirit-Breath of freshness engulfs the human spirit. Best of all, Jews are forgiven, again! Yom Kippur atoned for, or covered up, sins for another year with the sacrifices of bulls and goats. Christians, however are forever redeemed! “But Jesus came with His Own Blood once and for all having obtained eternal redemption [for us].” Hebrews 9:11, 12
“Everything old is new, again,” is often quoted. Evil vs. Good is a situation as old as the Garden of Eden. History repeats itself and circumstances change. God never changes and neither does the devil. Rabbis and sages declare 5785 (2025) as a year to ‘open the windows and breathe the fresh air’ by praising God.
Noah opened a window on the Ark 40 days after landing, to send out a raven and a dove. God told Noah to send the animals out, 14 days later. Noah and family stepped out into fresh air! Total newness was all around them. The sky was blue and the earth green! A sacrifice of praise was made, thanking God. Is it possible Noah’s family, lifting their eyes in reverence, saw the very first rainbow? Genesis 9:13-17.
Interestingly, recent investigation into the whereabouts of the Ark, show that it landed between the four rivers of Genesis 1, where Eden was created for God’s Man, Adam. Think of it, the Ark has been preserved since Genesis 6, covered in mud on Mount Judi (Cudi) in the Ararat Mountain Range! Judean-Christian ethics, beliefs and practices are embedded in the building, salvation and renewal of creation in Ark passages. See Renner.org
Jesus said, “[My second coming] is as in the days of Noah.” Matthew 24:37 God never allows His Plan to be foiled by the wickedness of men! Genesis 6 notes only one righteous man, Noah, and his family could be found. Noah had preached right standing with God for 150 years as he invented implements and developed formulas and plans to save himself and humanity at large. Is it possible that, just 32 days before 2024’s elections that YOU have what it takes to help save your nation? Let your vote be sent forth for peace!
Jesus reports “Blessed is that servant (Disciple) whom his Master, when He comes, will find him so doing [his Mater’s works].” Matthew 24:46.
