Eighth Annual High Plains Mini-Con Returns to Panhandle

SCOTTSBLUFF, NE - The High Plains Mini-Con Committee and Uptown Scottsbluff (formerly the Monument Mall) are proud to announce that the Eighth Annual High Plains Mini-Con will take place on Oct 19, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Center Court at Uptown Scottsbluff.

The High Plains Mini-Con is a family friendly, nerd-centric comics-and-pop culture event that has taken place in Scottsbluff each October, and is the only event of its kind in Western Nebraska.

"We are excited to once again bring this unique event to the Panhandle. It's an event for fans of all ages and fandoms to come and celebrate and express themselves," said Brandon Belford, Vice President of the High Plains Mini-Con.

Local comic creators and artists will be coming to display and sell their books and wares as well as participate in interactive panels throughout the day. There will be ongoing interactive panels throughout the day as well as a video game tournament and more! The event will end with the return of our fan-favorite Cosplay Contest.

Belford said, "Our main event is our Cosplay Contest. We encourage participants of all ages and skill levels to come and show off their skills by cosplaying as a character from their favorite fandom or creating one of their own.

We continue to reach out to other local fans and creators, including folks in the Front Range indie community, to keep alive the fun of comics and nerd culture in Scottsbluff."

Please note that all are encouraged to dress up even if you're not participating in the contest.
