Storm Wins Opener Against Minatare, Falls to Wallace, 81-6

WALLACE--Creek Valley's Storm Football team had a tough go last season, so their opening-day win against Minatare was a great way to start off the new season. Led by the running attack featuring juniors Zander Polk, Michael Prince Dugan, and sophomore Feenix Higginbotham, the Storm ran up 355 yards in their 48to-6 victory over the Indians. But in their next contest on September 6, the Storm made the long trip to Wallace only to get humbled by the Wildcats 81-to-6.

Wallace scored early and often on their way to the lopsided victory, while Creek Valley was only able to manage one score, a touchdown pass from Polk to junior Mason Timm. The Storm was held to just 37 yards rushing. Bright spots included sophomore Luke Fletcher blocking an extra point kick, Timm catching six passes for 120 yards, and Polk throwing for over 100 yards.

It won't get any easier for Creek Valley as they host the high-powered offense of Hay Springs on Friday night. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
