Members of the Sidney Middle School, High School Junior Varsity and High School Varsity Cross Country teams show off their medals after the Cozad Invite earlier in September.
Sidney's Red Raider Cross Country team has had a solid first month of competition, traveling to Scottsbluff, Cozad, and Chadron while the runners improve their individual times, allowing the team to improve in the standings. In their latest outing, Sidney traveled to Chadron for the High School/Middle School Meet on Friday, September 13.
The boys team placed sixth overall with 111 points. Sophomore Jonah Graham led the boys with a 21st place finish at 19:51.91. Senior Noah Canas placed 29th with a time of 20:37.04 and sophomore Mario Maytorena placed 32nd with a time of 20:43.78.
The varsity girls team had a third-place finish with 50 points. Sophomore Kylee Kampf continued her strong season performance with a third-place finish at 22:34.11. She was followed by junior Rayah Wolff in 10th place at 24:06.95 and freshamn Lyrah Ogden in 18th place at 24:59.83.
The Red Raider Cross Country team was scheduled to travel for the Run at the Rocks meet at Courthouse & Jailrock Golf Course near Bridgeport.
