Lodgepole Community Fund Raises Money for the Panther Activity Center

BY Gwen Devie

The Lodgepole Community Fund hosted a free-will taco dinner on Saturday, August 31, at the Panther Activity Center (PAC) in Lodgepole, Nebraska, as a fundraising event for the PAC. This event was part of the Labor Day weekend festivities celebrating Old Settlers' 100th Anniversary in Lodgepole.

The event raised over $1,700 which will help to offset maintenance and repairs needed at the PAC. The PAC needs work done on the restrooms and the boiler, with repairs estimated at $28,000.

On September 2, the Lodgepole Community Fund announced the winner of a Challenge held this summer between the former Lodgepole High School classes of 1940 – 1974 and 1975 – 2004. The Challenge raised a total of $3,750 for the PAC and the winner of that Challenge was the classes from 1940 - 1974. Thank you to everyone who donated to this challenge!

The Lodgepole Community Fund (LCF) has an account designated specifically for the PAC. The LCF feels that having the PAC available to the public is a wonderful asset to the community and is committed to helping keep the PAC a viable building.
