Warriors Battle Learning Curve in 6-Man Jump

DALTON--It's a new era for Leyton Football, and the Warriors will have to make the adjustments necessary to get up to speed in 6-man Football rather than the 8-man game they played for many years. Along with the change to 6-Man, the Warriors have a new head Coach in Cody Gamble. Gamble said he does have experience coaching 6-Man Football, but that was at a junior-high level. The high school game is a bit different, with stronger and faster players that test all of the schemes a coach can put in offensively and defensively.

At practice, the Warriors looked like they would need some time to get settled into the new game, but Leyton has some great athletes that should be up to the task. Look for the Warriors to hold up well against the stronger teams they face and to grab a few wins against teams that are going through a down period or are rebuilding. The Warriors open on the road against Fleming, CO on August 30.
