Lady Warriors Ready for Another Run

DALTON--Leyton's Lady Warrior Volleyball team had a banner season last year, winning the D2 District 11 Title and qualifying for the State Tournament. They could not get past Stuart in the first round but gained valuable experience and are ready for another run this year. Head Coach Natasha Haupt said that her girls had a lot of practice and playing opportunities over the summer, and will be ready to go when they open their season with a triangular against Minatare and Potter-Dix at Potter on August 29.

The Lady Warriors lost heavy hitters Claire Watchorn and Trinity Beutler to graduation but will rely on their speed and coverage discipline to keep at the top of the D2 rankings. Haupt says the team will look different this year in their playing style, but she expects the same great results for their efforts. Look for the Lady Warriors to tear through the beginning of their schedule until they face their first big challenge on the road against Bridgeport on September 21.
