PVFD Memorial Golf Tournament Scores Big Success

POTTER--The 2024 Potter Volunteer Fire Department Firefighters Memorial Golf Tournament was held August 10 at the Prairie Pines Golf Course in Potter.  With 17 teams participating this year, three separate flights of golfers were necessary.   In the championship flight, a scorecard playoff was necessary as two teams each finished with a score of 44. First place went to the team of Lane Juelfs, Jeff Halley, Mike Halley, and Mark Monheiser, and then second place went to the team of Brandon and Brooke Gasseling, Michael Schular, and Ryan Lee.  Third place went to the Kimball Volunteer Fire Department team of Mark Whittam, Andrew Bohac, Broc Nollette, and Rob McDonald with a score of 45. 

In the second flight, first place went to the team of Steve Linn, Randy Bohac, Gary Haack, and Lanny Little with a score of 46, and there was a tie for second between two teams with a score of 47, and after a scorecard playoff, second place went to the KVFD team of Erin Uglow, Don Loffland, Serjio Tarrango, and Dave Autry,  and third place went to the team of Jeremy Gasseling, Kayla Gasseling, Pat Welch, and Kristi Jung.   In the third flight, first place went to the team of Matt Jones, Mark Onstott, Jim Land, and Greg Stokes   with a score of 47,  second place went to the team of Trent Rutledge, Nate Faulkner, Don Lockard, and Emily Lockard with a score of 48, and third place went to the team of Jesse and Heather Williamson, James Dhooge, and Terry Higgins with a score of 52. 

The PVFD was very fortunate to have 27 'hole sponsors' who graciously donated cash to the tournament. There were items that were also donated that were used as flag prizes, and those donor's include Rood's Tire, 21st Century Equipment LLC, Nexgen Outfitters, Napa Auto Parts-Kokes Auto Farm Truck, Farmers Feed & Seed, Finney's Ace Hardware, Sutton's Home Gallery, Maverik, 308 Farmer(Kevin Frei), M+L Creative (Kayla Gasseling), KRS Custom Tumblers & More (Kim Sonnie), Dvorak Farms, Clevertees, and Bomgaars.

PVFD thanks all who participated and or generously donated to the event.  The proceeds of the tournament will be used to purchase items and supplies needed that aren't covered under the normal budget of the Fire Department, with our current project of creating a training facility north of Potter in the Landfill area. PVFD will host the tournament again next year on the second Saturday in August, and will provide information on the event when it is confirmed.
