Delta Dawn When the Light Comes On: Week 32

Psalm 37: 4 "I will give you the desires of your heart." Saul kicked against the pricks (points of the law), as the rich young ruler in Mark 10. He could not reconcile the Law with a caring Father, a relationship with God, as Jesus taught. How could everlasting, abundant life as in Matthew 5-7 and Luke 4 ever really be? His teacher, Gamaliel, was the greatest Rabbi ever. Saul was to dress like, eat like and teach like him. But a relationship with God, Himself? Acts 9, Saul becomes a student of Jesus in an unforgettable encounter with Love!

While I volunteered at the Colorado Welcome Center at Julesburg, we went on two study trips a year to learn about Colorado and send people to enjoy the sites, sights, and sounds while here. I don't recall the location, but after a long bus trip with 39 others, we arrived at Randy's for supper. It was a classy place. Immaculately dressed, a hostess greeted us with delight and seated us in a beautifully furnished room. It was peaceful. Waiters, dressed in suits, with towels over their arms, came to bring us water and any other beverage. There was no hurry or worry expressed. No menus were offered. I was impressed.

In a few moments a waiter appeared, knelt on one knee at my side, asked my name and said, "Good evening, Mrs. Johnson. My name is Daniel. It is my pleasure to serve you." I mumbled "Thanks". "Tonight's offerings are:" He gave me four options. "Which would you prefer?" I made a selection. He asked for details, cooking preferences and additional toppings. In a seemingly short time he arrived with the meal, gently placed it before me, asking for further direction. Daniel treated me as if I were the only diner in the house! My best tip could never repay his kindness nor express the impact his service still has on me.

Friend, Jesus is just like that. In His eyes, you are the only one He died for. He has His ear tuned toward you all the time, asking by way of Holy Spirit, "What detail may I see to for you, now?" He never tarries to perfect that which concerns you and He finds just the right person willing to serve as He would serve. Daniel exhibited 'royal priesthood' behavior; one sent of God to me.

Agape' love is offered by God, saying "I will give My best for you, no matter the cost to Myself." Accept this offer! He sent Jesus Who gave His life, once and for all, for us all. Our redemption was His great joy! Holy Spirit empowers us with resources, vision, an inner unction to serve; capability, with strength and energy so that others, with us, have a better, more peaceful, life. Psalm 145 tells us that the coming generation needs our vision, wisdom and encouragement.

What has the Lord placed before you to perform in His Name? You can do it! Just say, "Yes, Lord!", and watch Him work for, and with, you!

"I have come that you might have life and life more abundantly." John 10:10

Next Week: Bless'um You.
