Serving proudly since 1873 as the beautiful Nebraska Panhandle's first newspaper
SIDNEY--A new business has opened in Sidney, located at the former Highby's Coffee Shop in the Downtown Section. Red Diamond Realty, with locations in Greeley, CO, Cheyenne, WY, and Kimball, NE has just opened its newest location in downtown Sidney at 940 10th Avenue.
Red Diamond Realty offers consumers a broad choice of listings in Nebraska, Wyoming, and Colorado. The office in Sidney is managed by Taylor Wills, whose father and grandparents were from the Sidney area until they moved to Scottsbluff, while Wills' mother grew up in the Peetz and Potter communities. Wills has been a licensed Realtor for two and a half years now, and she has a great familiarity with the panhandle area, plus eastern Wyoming and Colorado.
Red Diamond is focused on residential Real Estate and has four licensed brokers on staff to help consumers with all types of real estate challenges.
"We have a very good reach with offices in Colorado, Wyoming, and Nebraska, so we can get more people to see your listings if you're selling, and offer greater options for buyers," said Wills.
Currently, Wills sees great opportunities in the Sidney area for both buyers and sellers. She said, "There's been an uptick in the Kimball area in home sales, but not because of the Hospital project or the Sentinel project. That growth may come later, but the growth over the past year in Kimball is mainly coming from the expansion of Clean Harbors. However, since the beginning of the year, Sidney has been starting to outpace Kimball in home sales. It's modest growth, but it is trending in the right direction."
The Sidney office is spacious and well-appointed with a comfortable and rustic feel. Right in the heart of the downtown area, Red Diamond is centrally located in Cheyenne County for convenience and will use the power of their other locations to give more diversified listings and options.
Wills said, "What makes us different from other realtors is our reach. We cover a three-state area, which gives us a larger amount of buyers and sellers. You get more homes to choose from in both cases, and we have a great footprint in Western Nebraska down to the Ogallala area. We also have an auctioneer on staff which is very convenient. The way I run this business is to always keep in mind what I would want as a consumer from a Realtor and to make sure that we can satisfy the needs of buyers and sellers."
As the office ramps up, Wills, who is a new mother, will expand her days and hours from a few per week in Sidney to full-time here hopefully by the end of September.
"I still work out of our Kimball office and I'm there a few days a week, but as time progresses I'm moving over to Sidney full-time to better serve the client base here," she said.
She noted that although interest rates are slightly higher than recent lows, they are still historically low, and it is a great time to buy or sell homes, especially in the panhandle area.
"We're seeing a lot of interest in the area for people to relocate here. A few years back, Colorado was the hot place to go, but the prices have gone up dramatically leaving western Nebraska as a new place of interest for people looking to relocate from cities," she said.
Red Diamond has four licensed Realtors on staff and look to expand quickly. Wills can be contacted at [email protected] or 308-672-3539.
