Set to open this weekend at the Elk’s Lodge located at 1040 Jackson Street in downtown Sidney; Way Out West’s latest children’s production of Huck Finn's High Tailin' Adventures is soon to set sail this coming Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The tale is a new twist on the classic adding to the original story of Huck Finn; “A part two, if you will,” comments Co-Director, Jeremy Narjes. An integral part of WOW since its origins 30 years ago, Narjes has served as a key player not only on the board, but as a director and cast mate as well, “My first play with Way Out West was when I was just 15 years old.”

Having the idea for the past two years, Narjes decided to present the idea to the WOW board, “It was a show I had never heard of before, and no one else had either. It has a few twists and turns I don’t think the audience will see coming,” Narjes hints.

Leading the production is Head Director Erin Huddleston, another long time member of WOW, “I’ve grown up in this theatre, my mom helped found the organization. Now my son gets to grow up with Way Out West too,” Huddleston remarks, “We’re a family here.”

Part of the cast has been involved for over half of their lives, now some as senior actors have grown into the set design aspect as well, “It’s been so fun watching our older kids help to paint the set and construct its design. Watching them mature to this point as been so rewarding,” Huddleston comments.

The show runs just shy of two hours, intermission included; a nice way to enjoy a hot June afternoon indoors, “This show is the story of a Huck Finn like you’ve never seen before, the what happens next,” Huddleston hints.

With limited seating available, it is best to plan ahead; as tickets are only available at the door or through a participating cast member it is best to arrive early. “We have approximately 200 seats available for each show, and they fill fast,” Narjes comments.

If looking to attend Huck Finn's High Tailin' Adventures, shows will run Friday, June 21 at 7:00 pm; Saturday, June 22 at 7:00 pm; and Sunday, June 23 at 2:00 pm. All tickets are $10, with a senior discount of $8 available for the Sunday show only.
