Eric Bruce Christofferson, age 62, of Sidney, NE passed away in Sidney, NE on May 22, 2024. Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Sidney, NE with Pastor Brenda Pfeifly officiating. Services will be livestreamed on the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel Facebook page and recorded for later viewing on our website. Inurnment will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery in Sidney.

Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Wednesday, May 29th from 1-6:00 P.M. to leave condolences for the family. Cremation has been held. Gehrig-Stitt Chapel & Cremation Service, LLC is in charge of Eric's care and funeral arrangements.

Eric Bruce Christofferson, born February 13, 1962, in Dalton, NE to Bruce Christofferson and Margery Elaine Thomas (Crosby). Eric graduated Sidney High School in 1980 then enlisted in the Army National Guard in 1983 serving until 1989.

In 1986 Eric met his beloved wife Gayla Wittrock of Lodgepole, NE. The two were married on August 8, 1987 at Weyerts Lutheran Church. The couple welcomed sons Kyle in 1992 and Brandon in 1995, and daughter Kaitlyn in 1999. Eric spent his days working on the family farm, doing various construction projects, spending time with his family, fishing when he had the chance, and watching the Huskers and Avalanche.

Eric is proceeded in death by his mother Margery Thomas, father Bruce Christofferson, brother David Christofferson, grandparents Arnold and Ruth Christofferson, and Aunt Beverly Christofferson.

Eric is survived by his wife Gayla and their three children Kyle, Brandon, and Kaitlyn, grandchildren Kyzer and Lincoln, mom Barb, sisters: Sandi, Stephanie, and Brandee, brothers: Brian and Chris, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
