Some More Constitutional Arguments

Recently our country has seen activities by various levels of government, from states to our national government that, at the very least, could be assessed as unconstitutional. Unfortunately many of our educational systems around the nation have failed to teach our young for some time about the Constitution of the United States. There are few today who have any knowledge about the original document, much less about the Amendments that have been made to it. And during the recent pandemic several states seemed to be in league with certain federals in straining and distorting the meaning of parts of the Constitution.

The first, and I believe the most egregious violation during the pandemic had to do with the first amendment. It states: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." I think this is pretty plain and straight forward. Yet, the dictates of the federal government and its several agencies grabbed powers in violation of this amendment. If, and this is a big "IF", the federal government had this power, it is interesting to note it was never used at anytime in the past with other nationwide pandemics. Hmmmm... me thinks something is not right.

At no time in our past history did the federal government lock down the nation's people, restricting their freedom of movement or any other freedom, especially not during times when diseases were spreading. Today's national government usurped authority it did not have in order to "lock down," the nation, restricting our freedom of movement and all the while impugn our freedom of expression. We have been learning in recent months that none of the lock downs and other repressive measures were needed and had next to no effect on curbing the pandemic. Also, the inoculations we were pressured into receiving had little, if any effect in curbing the spread of Covid according to numerous medical reports.

Next is Amendment IV. It states: "The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized." Our current government has violated this article more than once in the last couple of years. If they can make midnight raids on a former president and others associated with him with impunity, the feds can do it to you and I any time they want for any (or no) reason. Sometimes the feds have done it in broad daylight! They are hoping to make you and I shiver in fear.

Now add Amendment V to the above. It states: "No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation." How many times in the last few years have we seen this one violated? How many peaceful protesters have been jailed before being convicted and are still not convicted of any crime in a legal court, yet still in jail? This one also applies to what was done at Mar-A-Lago, as well as what is happening to former President Donald Trump in state after Democratically controlled state. If the courts can get away with this egregious activity with him, you and I are also at risk.

Next, we have Amendment II that reads: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." The word infringed means to trespass, encroach upon, pirate, and trample upon. You must understand that the term "militia" refers to an armed citizenry (not a national army) that local, state and federal governments can call upon if needed. Many of these governmental bodies have already started to encroach on citizens' rights to keep and bear arms. It starts first with registering your guns. This makes it easier for states and the federal government to find and remove your guns. Their program has nothing to do with "public" safety. This amendment is a plain, easily understood statement that you and I have the right to keep and bear arms. Period.

More to come as we look at additional amendments to the Constitution of the United States. I urge you to get a copy and read it from start to finish. If Americans do not know and understand what is in this document it makes it easier for a dictatorial state or centralized national government to enslave you. You, and only you, should have the power to protect your civil liberties and property, calling upon local law enforcement as needed.

P.S. Check your local schools, especially the high schools, and see if any of this information is being taught to your kids. I doubt it. And you wonder why our nation is deteriorating.
