Free dental care May 31 and June 1 for children ages 3-21

University of Nebraska Medical Center College (UNMC) College of Dentistry students, accompanied by dental residents and faculty members, will be in Sidney and Gordon on May 31 and June 1 for Dental Days. This is an opportunity for receive free dental care for children ages 3 to 21 that have little or no dental insurance. Children will be seen at Gordon Memorial Hospital and Life Smiles in Sidney.

“This will be the 20th year Dental Days has been offered in the Panhandle and providing important care for area kiddos. There are several partners that bring this event to fruition including local dentists, school nurses, hospitals, community volunteers, Open Plains Transit, and UNMC,” said Janelle Visser of Panhandle Public Health District (PPHD). Visser is one of the coordinators behind the annual event.

All of the appointments in Sidney have been filled, but there are still openings available in Gordon. If you need assistance in getting to a Gordon appointment, transportation for Dental Days is available at no cost. This can be set up by calling Open Plains Transit 308-761-8747 by May 17.
