Leyton High School Invite Has All Area Teams Compete

DALTON--Leyton's Warrior Track and Field teams hosted the Leyton High School Invitational, and many area schools participated in the competition. At the end of the day, Paxton, Kimball, and Hay Springs took top honors in the girls' team competition, and Kimball, South Platte, and Hay Springs were the top three schools in the boys' competition.

In the boys' results, the 100 Meters had Leyton sophomore Jeremiah Hajek placing fifth, followed by a tie for sixth between Potter-Dix senior Brayden Kasten and Potter-Dix sophomore Landon Gasseling. Kasten also placed sixth in the 200 meters. Creek Valley sophomore Alvin Russell placed sixth in the 400 Meters and sophomore Kyle Lenstrom of Potter-Dix placed third in the 800 Meters. Leyton Kaleb Borges won the 110 Meter Hurdles and the 300 Meter Hurdles. Potter-Dix junior Dawsen Monheiser placed second in Shot Put, and Leyton senior Jonathan Kruse placed sixth in Discus.

Jump. Long Jump had Leyton freshman Austin Beutler place third, Creek Valley's Luke Fletcher place fourth and Leyton's Jeremiah Hajek placed fifth. Landon Gasseling finished the scoring for Potter-Dix with a third-place finish in the Triple Jump.

For the girls, Leyton junior Shawnee Gamble won the 200 Meters, with Creek Valley senior Samantha Marin placing third and Leyton senior Claire Watchorn placing fifth. Creek Valley's Marin won the 400 Meters, Leyton sophomore Macey Roelle placed second and Creek Valley senior Anna Spiers placed sixth. Marin placed second in the 800 Meters with Leyton sophomore Faith Lee placing fourth. Leyton junior Zaili Bensih won the 100-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles, while Potter-Dix freshman Skyler Labeau placed fourth in the 100 and sixth in the 300-meter hurdles. Potter-Dix senior Jacina Wilbur placed fourth in Shot Put, Potter-Dix sophomore Kenzie Shoemaker placed sixth, Leyton's Watchorn placed second in Discus, followed by Potter-Dix's Shoemaker in sixth place, Leyton junior Riley Jones placed third in the High Jump, and Creek Valley's Karsyn Burgman placed fifth, and Skyler Labeau rounded out the scoring for Potter-Dix with a fifth-place finish in the Long Jump.
