Sidney And Greater Area Hosts Annual Fundraiser Event
Sidney's newest fitness center was fired up with energy and passion as locals of all ages gathered together to participate in SAGA's Lift For a Cause on Saturday, April 27th. The third-year annual event, put on with the support and dedication of Liz Borgmann and other SAGA partners acts as a reminder to get the community involved physically while raising money to help our surrounding areas.
SAGA – which stands for Sidney and Greater Area Fund, was initially founded in 2023 to provide opportunities for small local businesses to expand in big ways. "SAGA is dedicated to progress and long-term prosperity. A volunteer Fund Advisory Committee (which) works actively to increase charitable giving and award grants to local worthy causes and projects that are addressing emerging needs and future opportunities in our community," a quote taken directly from the organization's website, https://www.nebcommfound.org/give/saga/. Proceeds from this year's lifting event helped contribute to the progress of SAGA's efforts.
"This event allows anyone to compete in a sport that is not offered around here very often; this year because of the event, we were able to donate to the SAGA Fund. This non-profit is in the game of making dreams a reality," Borgmann had to say of the impact the event has in regards to the community. "Lifting weights allows the opportunity to build yourself and relationships."
