James Stewart, 70, of Sidney passed away Friday evening, March 8, 2024 at the Sidney Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
Per Jim's request, a private family gathering was held in his honor.
A celebration of life will take place on Jim's 71st birthday at 3:00 pm. Friday, March 15th at the Hillside Golf Course.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Night of Hope.
Holechek-Bondegard Funeral Home and Cremations in Oshkosh is serving the Stewart family.

James W. Stewart was born in Sidney, Nebraska on March 15,1953 to Weldon and Imogene Stewart. He grew up in Sidney and attended Sidney Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1971.
After his son Brandon was born in 1972, Jim joined BNSF Railroad and worked there for 40 years until his retirement in 2013. Following retirement, Jim spent his summers mowing the fairways at the Hillside Golf Course. Jim enjoyed golfing and loved watching all sports, especially his Huskers.
Jim and Jolynn were united in marriage in Maui, Hawaii on January 2, 1998.
He is survived by his wife, Jolynn Stewart of Sidney, NE; his son, Brandon (Rikki) Stewart of Sheridan, WY; daughter Amanda (Justin) Walker of Dalton, NE; his grandchildren Devyn and Jack Stewart, Bailee (Seth) Koelzer, Gauge Harcsa, and one great grandchild, Rowan Koelzer; his brothers Lee Stewart and Lyle (Brenda) Stewart; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Cindy Stewart.
