Freddie (Bud) James Gentz, of Potter, Nebraska, passed away on March 9, 2024. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
Freddie was the son of Fred W. and Mary Ann (Nab) Gentz, born on July 23, 1945. He worked with his father on the family farm most of his life. On December 23, 1987 he married his wife Grace. He had diesel mechanic shops, farmed, and ran his own trucks. He enjoyed working in his yard, in his workshop, and in his garage on older vehicles.
Freddie is survived by his wife Mary Grace (Vaughan) Gentz, his fur-friend Bruno who was always with him, sons Jamie Gentz (Beverly) of Padroni, CO, Timothy Gentz of Johnstown, CO, daughter Judy Gentz of Texas, stepson, Richard Vaughan (Tracy) of Ordway, CO, brother, Alan Gentz (Julie) of Sterling, CO, four sisters: Dorothy Ramsey of Apache Junction, AZ, Shirley Jefferies (Warren) of Macedon, NY, Bettie Lou Jessee (Joe) of Apache Junction, AZ, Nancy Barkema (Norman) of Alexander, IA, his brother in law who was like a son and whom he taught to drive trucks, Dayle Vaughan, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Freddie was preceded in death by his parents, his stepdaughter Jessica (Crider) Libera, sisters Carrie Mae White and Lora Lynn McCormick, brother Sammy and a great grandson Keith Prinsloo.
