Sidney Hires New Economic Director

The Director of Economic Development position has been filled. Brandy Stone, a Potter native and graduate, has exemplified the true meaning of hard work and dedication. Having joined the Army straight out of college, Stone is no stranger to arduous tasks; Stone served as Active Duty for seven years before transitioning to a Reservist position.

Stone's roots run deep in the community, with both her and her husband being from the area, the success of Cheyenne County is imperative. "I want to see us thrive and flourish, I have the ability to help Sidney's economy, and I have the drive to make that happen," Stone asserts. Willing to work from the inside out to get the job properly done, Stone is seeking answers from locals, "Before I can completely state my initiatives, I need to speak to business owners and the public about what people want to see happen for Sidney," she had to say.

Stone holds degrees in Emergency Management, Strategic Communication, Intelligence Operations Studies and Project Management, she also has worked as a contractor for the Department of Defense after Active Duty.

In Stone's spare time she enjoys reading, spending time with her family (whom she prides as her greatest accomplishment) and painting, "I've created murals around the world and love that I will continue to leave my mark in that way," Stone says. With a strong desire to help, and the right groundwork to get it done, Stone is another building block to Sidney's success.
