Alluring Aroma: Savor & Grace Makes the Cut

A new location for Savor & Grace was celebrated with an official "cutting of the cheese" Monday morning at 824 Tenth Avenue in Downtown Sidney. Owner Jill Sauder is the mastermind behind the operation, a place you can gather together and enjoy fresh quality charcuterie eats and other healthy scrumptious goods.

What is a charcuterie board or box? A French inspired meal consisting of cold meats, cheeses, preserves or hummus, fruits, veggies, nuts and other delectable treats. S&G offers their own special twist with different themed boxes, each with pairings matched to best fit the flavor profile. Needing a suggestion? The right answer is always there, just ask Zaire. When questioning which cheese best suits his fancy, "that's a tough one. Probably... the bourbon," the thirteen year old responds with dramatic pause and worldly wisdom.

The space is not the only new addition to S&G's expansion, the icing on the cake is Sidney Senior Avery Lawson's contribution to rebranding. Lawson's own small business, Evergreen Design Co. is a combination of her passion for all things graphic media and fine detail. To begin the process, Lawson sat down with Sauder to create a mood board filled with inspirations as to "what" she wanted the space to be, from there Lawson decided on a color pallet and tweaked the official logo. Lawson has been an integral part of S&G, "it brings me so much joy to see people gather around a table with our beautiful food!" she had to say about working beside Sauder and Zaire for the past half year.

The mechanics of a cheese shop are an ever-turning wheel, "S&G is winging it in all the best ways, we create products that may have never been seen before and that's just the beauty of the process; we're writing our own rulebook and we love what we do," Sauder affirmed.

The biggest take away from the interactions with S&G are the stories associated with each box or board, a special delicacy reserved for some of life's most intimate moments; a bite shared between friends, a warm fuzzy meant to brighten someone's day, a picnic shared with the one you love, or even a subtle reminder to yourself that cheese really can fix anything.

With "brie-lliant" ideas set for S&G's future, Downtown Sidney has much to be excited for. "Everything's coming together, and now seeing everyone here my heart is overflowing. I'm thankful to my team, my family and this community," Sauder commented, "Thank you for showing up."

Savor & Grace will operate on a regular basis; Sunday, Monday and Tuesday from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm, Friday and Saturday from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.
