Letter from the Editor:

Dear Cheyenne County,

Our Senior Staff Writer and Sports Editor Mike Motz, was taken gravely ill this past Sunday and is currently in ICU at Cheyenne Regional.

At this time, we are temporarily down both one of our two reporters and our sole Sports Writer. It is not an easy thing to do to admit one needs help, but we are a strong community newspaper, and I have zero doubt that this same community can rally behind one of its own during a very difficult time for both. He has worked tirelessly to bring news and sports to this area, and now he needs us all!

If your civic, church, or school organization has any news, photos, or updates that you would like to submit, please feel free to do so, and of course, full credit will be given. If you are particularly proud of your sports writing acumen and would like to send us details of a game you attended, then please get it to us. We can use photos without a story (just please include information), or stories without photos; whatever it takes to get the news and happenings of Cheyenne County out to the community at large.

We have been Sidney’s paper for 150+ years, and it is not a feat that was obtained solely to our own credit. Over the years this wonderful community has supported, contributed to, stood behind, and closed ranks with us to keep us going.

Let’s do that one more time.
