Security First Bank Feeds Hearts Across the Plains

Security First Bank, with the help of customers, employees, and community members, collected over 5,309 food and personal care items to benefit area food pantries through their recently completed "Feeding Hearts" food drive.

From February 1st through the 14th, Security First Bank collected canned goods, non-perishable food items, and personal care items at each of their 25 bank branch locations and 12 insurance offices throughout Nebraska and southwest South Dakota.

The food drive was initiated to raise hunger awareness and to encourage members of the community to help make a change in their respective communities.

"Often, food donations fall off after the holiday rush, yet the community's needs remain the same," comments Clint Norman, Security First Bank Branch President in Sidney. "Our hope is that Security First's efforts will provide meaningful help through this time of year."

In Sidney, 124 food and personal care items were given to Congregate Meals.

In addition to the food donations, Security First Bank accepted monetary donations and made $500 donations in each of their 20 communities, for a total of $15,280.
