The 2024 Nebraska Young Artist Awards have selected 3 area students as this year's recipients. The annual award is an honor bestowed to High School Juniors who are skilled in the areas of visual art, music, dance, theatre or film, and emerging media. Students are picked based on quality of work and rewarded with a private ceremony April 3rd honoring them on the UNL campus. Deanna Horst and Dru Weimer both of Sidney High School were chosen based on their talents in music, Monique Trejo a student of Potter High School was selected for her skill in visual art. These students are 3 of 1,800 recipients in the past 27 years of the program.
