Clifford Mons Johnson, son of Leslie & Thelma Johnson, was born on March 4, 1940 in Sidney. Cliff spent his early years on his family's farm north of Sunol, NE. He attended and graduated from Dix High School in 1957. After high school, Cliff attended college at Colorado A&M, now Colorado State University, where he received his bachelor's degree in Soil Science in 1963. During his time at university, Cliff was a member of the Farmhouse fraternity, as well as student flight club. He loved to fly and he loved to farm. After college, he returned to his father's farm. While working at Leslie's farm, Cliff also worked for a summer as a plant manager for Royal Chemical. In the years after, Clifford had farms in Potter, NE and then Pine Bluffs, WY. Cliff had many business partnerships and ventures over the years including construction, land management, and residential appraisal. Ultimately, Cliff settled on farming most of his years on the family ground north of Sunol, where he was raised.

In 1968, Clifford met the love of his life, Donna. The two were introduced by mutual friends, and were married in August of 1969. They remained married for 46 years until Donna passed away in 2015. The couple had 4 children together, Steven Johnson, Terri Rauscher, Shannon Carver, and Scott Johnson. Clifford and his wife loved Jesus Christ and they loved the church. He and Donna modeled the humility, grace, generosity, and genuine love that Jesus calls all Christians to have.

Clifford was preceded in death by his father; Leslie, his mother; Thelma, his wife; Donna, and his sons; Steven and Scott.

He is survived by daughter; Shannon Carver and husband Brian Carver, daughter; Terri Rauscher, nephew; Gary Johnson, daughter-in-law; Jennifer Johnson, 9 beloved grandchildren, and many great grandchildren.
