Holy Trinity Lutheran Church welcomes new Pastor

SIDNEY- The Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Sidney recently announced the arrival of their new Pastor, Brenda Pfeifly. Pfeifly will be replacing their previous pastor, Chad Rademacher, who moved to Wayne, NE to be closer to his family.

In early December, Pastor Pfeifly moved from Stromsburg, NE where she was Pastor of the Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church for 15 years, to head the congregation of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Sidney. She also wanted to be closer to family; she has a daughter who resides in Chadron, NE., and another daughter in Grand Junction, CO.

Originally from Princeton, Illinois, Pfeifly was earning her Bachelor's degree in History and Religion at Augustana College in Rock Island, IL when she had a conversation with the college chaplain and realized she wanted to go into the ministry. She continued on to attend Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg where she received her Master of Divinity for Ordained Ministry in 1989. She has been serving in the role of pastor since.

"My plan and my goal is to help to continue to grow in Christ with all that the Ministry is doing. We are rebounding from Covid and getting families back into the church," said Pfeifly. "It's a joy to be here and to begin this ministry partnership with Holy Trinity".

Jan Kniceley, a retired staff member of the church said, "It is always hard to say goodbye to a pastor because of all we have shared as the Body of Christ, but we are happy to have her (Pfeifly) and it is always so exciting to see what God has in store for our church."

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church is very active within the community. They offer a food pantry along with having vouchers for gas and lodging available. In the past year alone the church's congregation supplied Thanksgiving dinners for families in need, has volunteers who help with the elementary school classes, and each August the congregation provides school back packs for children in need. They also work tirelessly to donate to Lutheran World Relief by putting together health kits, school kits and baby kits as well as knitting numerous quilts to distribute.

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church is located at 2305 San Marino Road in Sidney. Worship services are held Sundays at 9:30 a.m., and are live-streamed on http://www.holytrinitysidney.com, and on http://www.facebook.com/holytrinitysidney.
