Delta Dawn When the Light Comes On: Week Two

"Come unto Me, all you who are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Learn from Me, and you will find rest for your souls, for My yoke is easy and My burden light," Matthew 11:28 Fear with torment contaminates and erodes a faith which believes God's word is true. Fear of God, however, is to "honor, respect, and revere' our Creator. This 'fear' brings knowledge, wisdom and understanding: an unfailing faith.

The Bible contains God's inspired word, written by many authors who tell the same story. God called each writer to say and do what they saw relevant for their time and generation. This written Word (logos) is God's bond, speaking to circumstances in the perilousness of today. Noah heard a spoken (rhema) word, Genesis 6, and undertook a century long task of ship building, preaching salvation as the unthinkable approached: rain.

With the rain came a rainbow. God's assurance of blessing! Certainly, without rain there are no crops to feed livestock. Livestock needs water, which must come from springs and from rain. The U.S. Great Plains experienced a 9-year drought 1930-1939. The heartland soil blew into dust bowls. Even fog would be a blessing!

Every generation, since the beginning of time, has had its 'era of disaster'. So how did they make it through? Are we able to overcome current circumstances and leave a path for our young ones to follow which helps them to victory? Yes. Our answer is in Jesus and so in theirs, as well. Let us realize that they, too, are born for the times and circumstances they must live in. God has prepared them for the journey they face, just as He has with us. Jeremiah 29:11

God always does His part. We must define and discover our part. Start small. God will not ignore it. Little is much, when God is in it. Legally, you and I must put Him in charge, and we do that with prayer. Then we must believe we receive what we pray from a Father who cannot lie. Mark 11:23-26

"Therefore, Believer, be strong in the Lord and the power of His might. Take up the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil, for we do not wrestle with flesh and blood but against principalities, powers, rulers of darkness of this age and against spiritual wickedness in the heavenlies. Fasten on a belt of truth and a breastplate of righteousness. Cushion your steps with the good news of peace. Oil your shield of faith with the Word to stop the devil's fiery darts. Snap the faceplate down on your helmet of salvation, and the devil will see you in Christ Jesus! Shine up your sword of Holy Spirit by speaking the Word with authority. Keep your prayer life strong, for it is God who hears and answers prayer. Having done all, stand your ground and occupy 'til Jesus comes!" Paraphrase of Ephesians 6:10-18 "Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. You believe in God, believe also, in Me." John 14:1
