Sidney's Red Raider boys Wrestling team has had a busy time over the last few weeks, competing at the Bridgeport/Sidney Invitational on December 16, and then taking on Ogallala and McCook in Dual meets on December 20.
At the Bridgeport Sidney Invite, Zech Roggasch again had an outstanding performance, taking first place at 175 lbs with four wins on the day, Patrick McCartney took second place at 190 lbs, Landon Hanes took third place at 285 lbs, Samuel Hulbert took fourth place at 144 lbs, both Kaine Hill and Matthew Cabbage earned fifth place at 126 lbs and 216 lbs, respectively. Jashawn Davenport and Ethan Hanes each earned sixth place at 150 lbs and 175 lbs, respectively.
At the McCook Dual, McCook was able to defeat Sidney by a final of 42-to-33. Kaine Hill scored a victory by Fall at 126 lbs, Patrick McCartney had a win by Fall at 190 lbs, and Matthew Cabbage had a win by decision at 215 lbs. Sidney had two other wins by forfeit.
At the Ogallala Dual, Sidney was defeated by a score of 42-to-36. Sidney had a win by Kaine Hill by Fall at 132 lbs, and five other wins by forfeit.
The Sidney girls Wrestling team also competed at the Sidney/Bridgeport Invitational, and then had a triangular at Ogallala with the host and McCook. Both Jadyn Cottam and Leean Mulleavey earned first place honors at 115 lbs and 235 lbs, respectively. Analicia Hernandez and Izabelle Owens earned second place at 100 lbs and 145 lbs, respectively. Saphira Whitley earned fifth place at 170 lbs.
Against Ogallala, the Sidney girls were defeated 36-to-29. Jaydn Cottam had a win at 115 lbs, Izabelle Owens won at 145 lbs, and Analicia Hernandez won at 235 lbs. Sidney had two other wins by forfeit. Against McCook, Sidney won 24-to-12. Jaydn Cottam won at 115 lbs, Izabelle Owens won at 145 lbs. Sidney had two other wins by forfeit.
