Evelyn DeMers, age 103, of Sidney, NE, passed away at SRMC Extended Care in Sidney on Thursday, November 30, 2023. Cremation has been held and a Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Memorials can be made to the Night of Hope or Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.

Evelyn was born March 1, 1920 at her grandmother's farm, 11 miles Southeast of Sidney to John and Martha (Badziong) Moseman. She grew up in Sidney attending St. Paul's Lutheran Parochial Elementary School and Sidney High School. She was employed at Bruckner's Ben Franklin Store in Sidney until she married John D. DeMers on May 5, 1940. They resided in Sunol where they raised two daughters and a son.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Evelyn enjoyed cooking and baking, crossword puzzles, traveling, slot machine gambling, ceramics and the occasional glass of wine.
She is survived by daughter, Kathleen DeMers of Parker, CO; son, Rick DeMers of Riverton, UT; grandson, Bryan (Laurie) of Potter, NE; grandson, Brett (Traci) of Franktown, CO; 4 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
