Jim D. Miles, age 82, of Sidney, NE, passed away in Aurora, CO on Wednesday, November 29,
2023. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 16th, 2023, at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel in Sidney with Leon "Bud" Gillespie officiating. Services will conclude at the funeral home. Jim's services will be livestreamed on the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel Facebook page and recorded for later viewing on the website.
Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Friday, December 15th from 1:00PM–6:00 P.M. to sign Jim's book. Memorials may be made in care of the family for a later designation.

Jim was born on December 5, 1940, in Sterling, CO. He married Bonita R. Merklin on
December 3, 1973, and raised a family on a farm outside of Lodgepole, NE. He enjoyed
Hunting and Fishing, as well as Camping at Lake McConaughy. He was also musically
inclined, able to play piano, guitar, and accordion. After 50+ years on the farm, he and his
wife then moved to Sidney, NE to be closer to family.
He is survived by his wife, Bonita. Survivors also include his daughters: Paulette Miles of
Zelienople, PA, Lisa Cutler of Kansas City, MO, Sandy Miles of Sidney, NE, and Candy Chaon of
Sidney, NE, his grandchildren: Katie Miles-Bryant of Moline, KS, Kari Allen of Moline, KS,
Mick Bond of Kansas City, MO, Chris Bond of Kansas City, MO, Alec Bond of Kansas City, MO,
Savanna Miles of Anacortes, WA, Kevin Miller of North Platte, NE, Alexia Miller of Sidney, NE,
Nolan Miller of Sidney, NE, Dylan Chaon of Sidney, NE, three great-grandchildren, and
extended family.
The Family would like to thank all of those who helped Jim during this time, your kindness
and consideration are so much appreciated.
