Delta Dawn When the Light Comes On: Week 45

"Beloved, I pray that you prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers." 3 John 2 A soul filled with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding is a prospering soul. No doubt about it. God wants us to prosper!

Humanity is created with a spirit, a soul and a body. Spirit and soul are different. "For the Word of God is living and powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the to the division of soul and spirit; of joints and marrow and is a discerner of the thoughts and intent of the heart." Hebrews 4:12 His Word, written and spoken, is everlasting, prosperous life. When we choose Jesus, our spirit is reborn as a new creature! 2 Corinthians 5:17 When an eye is on His Word, an ear will listen for a still, small, but distinct inner Voice.

God speaks to every man Spirit to spirit, that is, Heart to heart. God does not speak to the intellect, psyche, emotions or social standing of an individual. He is not a respecter of persons. He does not seek the able; He seeks the available and creates, in them, His ability to solve problems. God often searches the heart around 2 a.m. so as to weave His will into our thoughts and emotions (soul).

Thoughts and emotions are made up of what one learns from the time of conception. In that learning curve are psychological understanding of right vs. wrong, knowledge of people, places and things, grasping of coping devices to conquer stress, even before birth. At birth, a social dynamic develops within the family and community. Relationship is God's super glue.

Like water to a sponge, love nourishes the soul. Newborn babies are cuddled and carried. Tiny brains begin to connect knowledge, wisdom and understanding. One alert four-month-old, felt of her blanky, then fingered the carpet her blanky lay on. Deterred from making distinctions, she may never discover boundaries and other essential details of her environment. Encouragement is the well spring of a prospering soul in the young, the old, and, indeed, every person.

People pray because God has answers! A talk with God changes people and people change things. The year we sold the farm, taxes were not filed to their approval, so the IRS issued a bill with penalties. Frank's check was garnished. We borrowed money to buy food. Wrangling with the IRS brought me to a 'primal scream'. I fell across my desk and cried, "Father this is an oppression to me!" 24 hours later an inheritance check arrived in the mail! We had no idea this was even available! Proof positive came that day! Father hates oppression, hears and answers prayer. The IRS and back bills were paid in full!

Humility plus honor brings favor. Prayer brings Father God to where He longs to be: involved in everything we do. He, then, cannot deny His own. He sends the way of escape!

"Behold, obedience is better than sacrifice and to heed His Voice better than fatted rams". I Samual 15:23.
