Delta Dawn When the Light Comes On: Week 44

"Mordecai answered Esther, 'Do not think that you will escape [death] in the king's palace any more than [your people], for if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for [your nation] from another place, but you and your house will perish. Yet, who knows whether you have come to [be queen] for such a time as this?'" Esther 4:13, 14

Look at these Scriptures in the light of the election season which has, already, begun. Who are you? Who are 'your people'? Will your nation survive? Friend, can we be completely silent while our Christian ethic goes Marxist? Be wise!

Get to know candidates, and be informed on issues! There's plenty of information about each one. First, discover how candidates stand on marriage and abortion. Second, how he/she will stand with Israel, third, how he/she considers gun control and fourth, knowledge of the U.S. Constitution. Ask of the least candidate, for once elected, he/she will climb upward. Reminder: Osama Bin-Laden, Taliban operative, thought if Senator Joe Biden were President, Taliban could overthrow the United States in a trice. God's people went to the ballot box. George W. Bush was elected at a crucial time. 'Trice' happened September 11, 2001. 

Elections are rife with mud-slinging and propaganda, true. However, taking time to investigate a candidate's upbringing, service and voting record will reveal what he/she believes and will faithfully stand up for. Study the platform your candidate agrees to uphold! Is it truth and justice as God gave in the Constitution of the United States of America or is it just parroting rhetoric for effect? 

I remember, vividly, the year I asked God, several times, for whom I should vote. Each time He said, "For the new President." I was not sure His answer was helpful. I began investigating President/Vice-President tickets of both parties. Novice as I was, I voted Bush/Cheney because Bush, as a Texas Governor, called Christian ministries saying, "Gentlemen, we've gone from 14 prisons to 114. We need your help to get the Word of God into them." Cheney, launched a full out war on gang rule and recruitment in Cheyenne, Wyoming. 

Adversity to the election tally came up in Florida with the counting of 'chads'. The Supreme Court was consulted and our Constitution held. George W. Bush was elected and stood strong at 9-11. Further, he put 4 Conservative judges on the Court. Cheney, as a former House Speaker stood strong against government overtake of schools. Bush/Cheney efforts, 22 years later, affect lives today.

"You are the salt and light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good work and glorify God. Let your 'yes' be 'yes' and your 'no' be 'no' for whatever said more [than this] is from the evil one. Therefor you shall be perfect as your Father in Heaven is perfect. Matthew 5:13-16, 37, 46.
