HYANNIS--Leyton finished up their struggle of a season on Thursday, October 12, with a shutout loss to the Hyannis Longhorns. The Warriors ended the game with -9 total yards against the tough Hyannis defense. Senior Kaleb Borges had 10 carries for 13 yards, the only Warrior rusher to end up in positive numbers on the day. The Warriors turned the ball over twice in the loss, and the Hyannis defense forced five Leyton punts in the game. On a positive note, the Warriors forced four turnovers, with Borges recovering two fumbles.
The loss ends the season for Leyton, whose traditionally strong 8-Man Football team suffered through a down season. However, many of the younger players were able to gain valuable experience and should be able to get Leyton back as a contender in the following seasons. Leyton finishes with a 1-and-7 record, their only win coming against winless Morrill back on September 9.
