Jordan's 97 Qualifies Sidney Junior for State
MCCOOK-- A fifth place finish for Sidney junior Claire Jordan at the B-4 District Tournament in McCook on Monday qualifies her for the State Tournament in Scottsbluff next Monday and Tuesday. Jordan's round of 97 put her in fifth place behind McCook's Laney Peters, Scottsbluff's Addison Peck, Adams Central's Sidney O'Dey and the winner from Scottsbluff, Nielli Heinold.
The Sidney team placed fifth with a round of 465. The Scottsbluff team took first place with a round of 398, Adams Central was second with a round of 427, McCook was third with a round of 451 and Gering was fourth with a round of 464.
Head Coach Tyler Shaw's first year at the helm of the Girls Golf team has been successful, with the girls consistently improving their game and having a State Qualifier in Claire Jordan. Jordan will now take on the challenging course at Scottsbluff Country Club in hopes of a medal.
Creek Valley's Kennedy Bocock finished up her outstanding year on the links by qualifying for the Class C State Tournament at Lake Maloney Golf Course in North Platte. Creek Valley Head Coach Aaron Brown will travel to North Platte with Bocock, after she qualified with a round of 98 to earn fourth place at the C-5 District Meet at Crandall Creek Golf Course on Monday. Bocock will compete for a medal on Monday and Tuesday of next week.
