NORTH PLATTE--Sidney's Lady Raider Golf team hit the road on Thursday, September 14 to compete in the North Platte Invitational. Although matched up against some of the toughest teams in the area, the girls played well and finished fifth out of ten teams competing.
The Sidney girls were led by Claire Jordan's 90, scoring a 45 on both the front and back nine of the course. Josette McConnell scored a 52 on the front and back nine for a total round of 104, followed by Jordan DeNovellis with a 53 on the front nine and a 52 on the back nine for a round of 105. Katie Raffleson finished the Sidney scoring with 57 on the front nine and a 53 on the back nine for a round of 110.
The Broken Bow team took top honors with a round of 327, followed by Scottsbluff with a round of 346. The North Platte Blue team placed third with a round of 379 and Ogallala placed fourth with a round of 398. Sidney placed fifth with a round of 409.
Sidney continues to improve in their play, with Claire Jordan having some very fine rounds in recent action. The girls were scheduled to compete on Tuesday morning in Ogallala.
